We recently witnessed an unfortunate incident in the Ashaiman District, where two individuals, Obaa Yaa Annan and Lydia Koomson, were involved in a public altercation. The Ashaiman District Court has responded by granting bail in the amount of GH¢5,000 with one surety each to the individuals involved.

During the court proceedings, both Annan and Koomson pleaded not guilty to charges of disturbing public peace. According to Police Inspector Kwajo Danso, the altercation arose from a disagreement over the proper disposal of wastewater, resulting in a physical confrontation between the two individuals.

The altercation took place in full view of the public, causing injury to both parties. Annan subsequently sought assistance from the Katamanso Police Station and was provided with a medical form for treatment of her injuries.

Following an investigation, it was determined that both individuals had engaged in a public altercation, disturbing the peace of others. As a result, they were charged with the offence and brought before the court.

It is important to note that such incidents have a detrimental impact on the community and cannot be condoned. The granting of bail serves as a legal recourse while the case is being adjudicated.

As we await further developments in this case, it is imperative for all members of the community to prioritize peaceful conflict resolution and respect for the law. We trust that the judicial process will provide a fair and just resolution to this matter.
