We regret to report a tragic incident involving the killing of a military officer in the Millennium City District. The suspect, identified as Benlord Ababio, also known as Nana Ben, has been apprehended by the police.
The unfortunate event took place on the evening of Tuesday, April 30, when Nana Ben allegedly fired shots at a vehicle carrying three officers, resulting in the untimely death of one officer. The deceased, who was driving a private Toyota RAV4, fell victim to the gunfire.
It has been revealed that the conflict leading to this heinous act stemmed from a dispute over land ownership between the deceased military officer and certain unauthorized developers. Following this dispute, the officers were en route to the regional command to file a complaint when they were confronted by Nana Ben.
According to eyewitness accounts, Nana Ben had issued threats against the officers, warning them to desist from pursuing the land and police case. Subsequently, he pursued them and opened fire at their vehicle, fatally injuring the driver.
The injured officer was promptly transported to the mother and child hospital, where he was tragically pronounced dead. His body has since been transferred to the 37 military hospital.
The Millennium City District Police Command has taken swift action in apprehending the suspect, and we trust that the judicial process will ensure that justice is served for the fallen officer and his colleagues.
Our thoughts and condolences go out to the family, friends, and colleagues of the deceased officer during this difficult time. We also extend our gratitude to the law enforcement authorities for their prompt response and dedication to upholding the peace and security of our community.
