We are deeply saddened to report on a recent incident in Tema Community 25, where two unidentified men were lynched by unknown assailants for allegedly stealing a goat. According to the Ghana News Agency (GNA), the two individuals were riding a motorbike and brandishing a knife at the time of the theft. They were subsequently pursued by their attackers, leading to a fatal fall at Bediako junction, where they were subjected to mob justice.

Mr. Isaac Newtown Tetteh, the Assemblyman for the Nmlitsakpo Electoral Area in the Kpone-Katamanso Municipality, has expressed concern over the situation. He has confirmed that the police have retrieved the bodies and deposited them at the mortuary. Additionally, Mr. Tetteh has highlighted the fear among residents regarding potential reprisal attacks, as it has been revealed that the deceased individuals were residents of Ashiaman Tulaku.

It is important to emphasize that resorting to mob justice is never justifiable. Mr. Tetteh rightly asserts that no one has the right to take another person’s life, and he has aptly described the incident as unfortunate. In light of these events, he has called for calm among residents and urged them to refrain from taking the law into their own hands. Instead, he has emphasized the importance of cooperating with the police and handing over suspects for proper legal proceedings.

Furthermore, Mr. Tetteh has urged the police to conduct a thorough investigation into the matter. Understanding the circumstances surrounding this tragic event is crucial in order to prevent similar occurrences in the future. He has also highlighted the prevalence of theft and break-ins within the community, calling upon law enforcement to enhance surveillance efforts to deter such criminal activities and prevent further loss of life.

In conclusion, it is imperative for the community to come together in support of the authorities as they seek justice for the victims and work towards ensuring the safety and security of all residents. Our thoughts are with the families and loved ones of the deceased during this difficult time.
