We are deeply saddened to report the unfortunate incident that occurred over the weekend involving the District Pastor of the Church of Pentecost at Papaase in Awutu Senya West District, Pastor Samuel Koblah Narh. Pastor Narh was shot and critically injured by armed robbers in front of the mission house, following the evening church service.
According to reports, the Pastor’s son opened the gate to the house for his father when the robbers, who had been hiding around, rushed on him at gunpoint. They proceeded to make away with the pastor’s Toyota RAV4 car, mobile phones, and other belongings before shooting him. The pastor is currently receiving treatment at Alpha Pentecost Hospital in Accra after being initially taken to the Trauma and Specialist Hospital.
This distressing incident is reportedly the third time that Pastor Narh has been attacked and robbed at the mission house, raising serious concerns about security in the area. Furthermore, residents in the community have expressed their apprehension due to the lack of streetlights and a nearby police station, which exacerbates their vulnerability to such criminal activities.
In light of these events, we join in solidarity with the affected community and echo their call for improved security measures. It is imperative for the authorities to address the pressing need for streetlights and consider establishing a police presence in the area. The reliance on police stations at Jei Krodua and Ofaakor underscores the urgency of this matter.
Our thoughts and prayers are with Pastor Samuel Koblah Narh for his speedy recovery, and we hope that necessary steps will be taken to prevent such incidents from recurring in the future.
