Eyewitness accounts reveal that the fracas was an extension of a disagreement that began the previous day when a group of young men on motorbikes from Mpasatia visited Ayinamso I. Efforts to resolve the misunderstanding spiraled into violence, culminating in the stabbing of two individuals, including Fosu.
The situation reportedly intensified when reinforcements arrived from Serebuoso, a neighboring community, further escalating the confrontation. According to witnesses, members of both groups are known to use charms believed to protect them from knife or cutlass wounds. Tragically, Fosu’s charm failed him during the clash, resulting in a deep cut at the back of his neck.
Medical Attention and Recovery
Following the attack, Fosu was rushed to the Frimpong Medical Centre at Toase, where he received emergency treatment. Although he has since been discharged, he remains visibly injured, with a large plaster covering the wound on his neck.
Recounting the ordeal, Fosu disclosed that he had accompanied his friends to Ayinamso I without knowledge of their intent to engage in a fight. He explained that he was attacked from behind and could not identify his assailant.
Police Investigations
The Ghana Police Service in the Atwima Mponua District has launched an investigation into the incident. According to reports, the prime suspect fled the scene after committing the crime, evading attempts by residents to apprehend him. As of press time, no arrests had been made.
