In a deeply saddening incident, a 20-year-old man has reportedly taken his own life in Obuasi, a suburb of Agogo in the Asante Akim North Municipality of the Ashanti Region. The tragic event occurred on the afternoon of Sunday, September 22, leaving the community in shock and sorrow.
According to reports, the young man had returned home from church with his girlfriend earlier that day. After sharing a meal together, the couple decided to rest. However, the girlfriend awoke later to the devastating sight of her partner hanging from the ceiling. The distressing discovery prompted her to raise an alarm, drawing attention from neighbors and authorities.
Local law enforcement, along with personnel from the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO), arrived at the scene around 7 p.m. The body of the deceased was subsequently transported to the Agogo Presbyterian Morgue for preservation and a scheduled autopsy to determine the exact cause of death.
The Agogo Police Service has since launched a formal investigation into the incident to uncover any underlying factors or circumstances leading up to this heartbreaking event.
