In a deeply tragic event, an Assistant District Planning Officer from the Yunyooo-Nasuan District in the North East Region of Ghana lost his life during an armed robbery attack on Friday morning, October 10, 2025. The incident has left the community in shock and mourning.
The victim was traveling aboard a Metro Mass Transit bus with registration number GN-5180, en route from Bunkpurugu to Tamale. According to eyewitness accounts, the attack occurred near Nakpanduri town, a location that has seen sporadic security challenges in recent years.
Reports indicate that armed robbers ambushed the bus, forcing the driver into a desperate attempt to evade the attackers. Unfortunately, the robbers fired shots at the vehicle, with one bullet fatally striking the officer through the rear section of the bus where he was seated.

The victim's body was subsequently transported to the morgue, while passengers and witnesses were left traumatized by the harrowing experience. Authorities have yet to release the identity of the victim out of respect for his family and pending formal notifications.
