We are deeply saddened by the tragic and untimely death of Eric Johnson, the Chief Executive Officer of the Cossy Hill Hotel (Jirapa Dubai) in the Upper West Region. His dedication to developing the tourism sector in the region and creating employment opportunities for the local community will be sorely missed.

In light of this devastating loss, the Member of Parliament for Jirapa, Cletus Dapilah, has taken a decisive step by offering a GH¢100,000 bounty for information leading to the arrest of the perpetrators responsible for this heinous crime. This gesture underscores the seriousness with which the authorities and the community are approaching this case.

It is heartening to see that seven individuals have already been apprehended in connection with the murder. However, the pursuit of justice does not end here. The commitment to unraveling the identity of the killers and bringing them to book is unwavering.

Eric Johnson's vision and efforts to make the Upper West region an attractive destination for tourists and visitors must not be in vain. His contributions in creating over 300 direct jobs for the local populace and his aspirations to open up the region to the world deserve our utmost respect and support.

The granting of bail to five of the arrested individuals on Thursday, February 15, serves as a reminder of the importance of a thorough and meticulous investigation. It is imperative that all necessary steps are taken to ensure that justice is served and that those responsible for this senseless act are held accountable.

We echo the sentiments of MP Cletus Dapilah in urging all members of the community to come forward with any information that may assist in this investigation. The memory of Eric Johnson and his legacy of positive impact on the region must be honored through a collective effort to seek justice.

Our thoughts and condolences remain with the family, friends, and colleagues of Eric Johnson during this difficult time.
