We are deeply saddened to report on the tragic incident that occurred in the Fanteakwa South district of the Eastern region, where a violent clash between residents of Nsuapemso and students of Osino Presby Senior High Technical School resulted in the loss of one life. Additionally, one vehicle was also burned to ashes during the altercation.

In response to this unfortunate event, authorities have taken proactive measures to enhance police presence at the school in order to prevent any potential reprisal attacks. It has been revealed that longstanding tension between the students of Osino Presby Senior High Technical School and Nsutam Senior High Technical School escalated following an alleged beating of a student from Nsutem on Monday, February 19, 2024.

Efforts by relatives of the Nsutem Senior High Technical student to hold the perpetrator from Osino Presby Senior High accountable unfortunately led to further violence. This resulted in residents being subjected to severe beatings, with one individual tragically losing their life at the Osino Clinic, while others sustained injuries.

The Fanteakwa District Security Council and the Regional Security Council are working in collaboration to maintain calm in the area as they launch a thorough investigation into the matter, with the aim of holding any responsible students accountable for their actions.

Our thoughts and condolences go out to the family and loved ones of the deceased, and we urge for a swift and just resolution to this distressing situation.
