We have received reports of a tragic accident involving a school bus in Kwabedu, a suburb of Tarkwa in the Western region. The bus, belonging to Kingdom Kids School and carrying over 25 pupils, was involved in an accident resulting in the death of a pedestrian.
According to an eyewitness, the bus, with registration number GN 2681-11, was transporting pupils to school when the accident occurred. It is reported that the bus crashed on a steep portion of the road, leading to a tragic chain of events.
Tragically, a school girl walking along the road fell as a result of the shock from the accident. The bus, which had come to a stop on the road, then veered off and fell on the school girl. Despite efforts by nearby welders and other individuals to rescue her, the young girl succumbed to her injuries after being rushed to the hospital.
Fortunately, all the occupants of the bus managed to escape unhurt as the windscreen of the bus broke upon impact. However, some of the children were understandably affected by the shock of the incident and have been taken to the hospital for medical attention.
