The community of Nsuapemso is currently grappling with the tragic and unjust death of 28-year-old Ofosu Peter, who was mercilessly lynched by students of Osino Senior High Technical School. This deplorable incident has sparked an outcry for justice, as the perpetrators are yet to be apprehended, leading to simmering frustrations among the residents.

Scheduled for burial on March 23, 2024, the late Ofosu Peter's family and the community are intensifying their demand for justice in the face of the failure of law enforcement to bring the perpetrators to book. The tragic event unfolded on February 19th when students of Osino Presby Senior High Technical School allegedly attacked Ofosu Peter, accusing him of attempting to lead an arson attack on their dormitory. This accusation, vehemently denied by the family and community, led to a violent altercation resulting in Ofosu Peter's untimely death.

Tensions between Osino SHS and Nsutem Senior High Technical School (NSUTECH) had been escalating following an assault on a student of NSUTECH from the Nsuapemso community. The situation reached a boiling point when Ofosu Peter, a miner, became the target of the students' aggression.

Nana Akosua Kyerewaa (I), the Queen mother of Nsuapemso, emphasized the community's desire for justice, stating that the students' actions have instilled fear among the residents. She highlighted the urgent need for law enforcement to intervene and ensure that justice is served.

The grieving father of the deceased, Martin Addo, expressed his determination to seek justice through both legal and traditional means. He issued a stern warning to the perpetrators, urging them to surrender to the authorities before his son's burial. This heartfelt plea underscores the deep anguish and resolve of a father seeking closure and justice for his son.

Meanwhile, Isaac Kwadwo Paddy, spokesperson for the Nsuapemso youth, voiced frustration over the lack of progress in the investigation. He highlighted the community's plea for justice and expressed concern over the perceived delay in addressing this grave injustice.

Amidst these calls for justice, some residents have cautioned that failure to swiftly apprehend and prosecute the perpetrators could lead to potential consequences. They have emphasized the importance of upholding the rule of law and have urged law enforcement to take decisive action to prevent further unrest within the community.

As the community prepares to lay Ofosu Peter to rest, the demand for justice remains unwavering. The urgency of this matter cannot be overstated, and it is imperative that swift and decisive action is taken to address this grievous injustice. The eyes of the nation are now upon the authorities as they are called upon to deliver the justice that is so desperately sought by the grieving community of Nsuapemso.
