UGMC doctor apologizes for publicly disclosing Kuami Eugene's health condition

We regret to inform you of an incident that occurred involving popular Ghanaian musician, Kuami Eugene. Last Sunday, March 17, 2024, Kuami Eugene was involved in a near-fatal accident at CP close to DSTV, after Achimota Overhead towards the Dzorwulu traffic light.



Eyewitnesses reported that the musician’s vehicle rammed into a tipper truck from behind, resulting in the accident which took place around 11:30 pm on Sunday.


Following the accident, Doctor Ameena Haruun, a medical practitioner at the University of Ghana Medical Centre (UGMC), attended to Kuami Eugene. In what has been described as an unauthorized disclosure, the doctor made public the health condition of the musician in a post on social media, stating, “Kuami Eugene is here at the hospital with us, and it ain’t looking good. Kindly send him a prayer.”


In light of this, Doctor Ameena Haruun has issued an apology for her actions, acknowledging her mistake and expressing regret for any inconvenience caused to the patient. She stated, “Mistakes are made for lessons to be learnt. I am highly regretful of the inconveniences caused to the Patient due to my violation of our ‘Code Of Ethics’. Henceforth, I will not repeat such a mistake in the future and am trying my best to solve this as soon as possible.”
