We commend the Western Regional Command of the Ghana Immigration Service (GIS) for their successful operation on Wednesday, March 27, 2024. The roundup of sixty-six migrants at various hideouts within the Western Regional Capital of Sekondi-Takoradi is a significant accomplishment in line with the GIS “TRIPPLE S” Campaign.

The campaign, aimed at ensuring a secured, stable, and safe nation, is a crucial step in addressing illegal activities within the region. The suspects, comprising 45 men and 21 women aged between 19 and 54, were recruited from various towns to engage in cybercrimes and other illegal activities. It is disheartening to note that these individuals were lured under the guise of operating an online business (QNET), highlighting the deceptive tactics employed by the syndicate.

We appreciate the efforts of the Ghana Immigration Service in identifying and apprehending the individuals responsible for recruiting unsuspecting migrants. The detention of individuals for further investigation demonstrates a commitment to upholding the law and ensuring justice prevails.

Furthermore, the recent operation led by Deputy Superintendent of Immigration (DSI) Emmanuel Adams resulting in the arrest of six Nigerian ladies operating as commercial sex workers at the Bafana Bafana Beach Resort is another notable achievement. The repatriation of these individuals underscores the commitment to addressing illegal activities and maintaining security within the region.

It is imperative to continue such operations and campaigns to safeguard the nation and prevent individuals from falling victim to exploitation and illegal activities. We encourage the Ghana Immigration Service to remain steadfast in their efforts to uphold the law and protect the welfare of all individuals within the region.

The actions taken by the GIS serve as a testament to their dedication to maintaining law and order, and we commend their unwavering commitment to ensuring a secure and stable nation.
