We have received reports of a disturbing incident at Apam Senior High School (SHS) in the Gomoa West District of the Central Region. Five students are currently in custody at the Apam District Police Command following allegations of assaulting their classmates during a fight on campus over the weekend.
One of the victims, who was reportedly at risk of losing an eye, is currently receiving medical treatment at St. Luke’s Catholic Hospital in Apam. It has been reported that the individual sustained a deep cut at the back of the eye.
At present, the suspects, representatives from the Gomoa West Education Directorate, and school authorities from Apam SHS are cooperating with the police in their investigations at the station.
Additionally, family members of the suspects have also been present at the Apam District Police Command in an effort to secure bail for the detained students.
