We are deeply saddened to report on a tragic incident that has recently occurred in the Berekum West District of the Bono Region. A 22-year-old man, Kwame Krah, has been arrested for the alleged killing of his two-year-old son at Berekum-Koraso.

According to reports, Kwame is said to have tied the body of his son in a sack and dumped it in a bush. Fortunately, some community members spotted him in the act and intervened, leading to his apprehension.

The Assemblyman for Koraso Nana Boakye Electoral Area, Kingsford Dewuo, confirmed the incident and stated that the suspect was nearly subjected to mob justice by the youth in the community. However, the timely intervention of the Berekum District Police prevented this from happening.

A sister of the suspect, Mercy Asantewaa, revealed that the two-year-old boy was initially in her custody, but Kwame had come to take him away. When questioned about the boy's whereabouts, Kwame claimed to have returned him to his mother. Tragically, it was later discovered that the child had been killed.

At present, it remains unclear what motivated Kwame to commit such a heinous act against his own son. The Police have commenced an investigation into the incident to uncover the circumstances surrounding this heartbreaking tragedy.

This devastating event serves as a stark reminder of the importance of safeguarding the well-being of children within our communities. Our thoughts and condolences go out to all those affected by this distressing loss.
