We are deeply saddened to report a tragic incident that occurred in the tranquil Bobiri Forest Reserve near Ejisu. A member of the Ashanti Regional Police Headquarters, Sergeant Amoah Moses, fell victim to a fatal shooting by unidentified perpetrators, leading to his untimely demise in this remote area.

The distressing event came to light when officers from the Ejisu District Police, led by DSP Patrick Okai Kodjoe and ASP Hannah Amoafo, responded to a distress call from Caleb Adu Agyemang, the Assemblyman of Kubease Electoral Area. Agyemang reported the discovery of a deceased male adult on May 14, 2024. The victim, clad in a green long-sleeve shirt paired with khaki trousers and black boots, was found lying unconscious in a pool of blood, bearing a gunshot wound on his right leg below the knee. Adjacent to the victim were a single-barrel gun and a machete.

Despite immediate medical attention and transportation to the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital, the attending physician declared the victim deceased upon arrival. His remains now rest at the hospital’s morgue awaiting further examination through autopsy procedures.

Authorities, including the District Crime Officer and the Ashanti Regional Crime Scene Management Team, led by DSP Francis Nimoh, are actively pursuing leads to uncover the circumstances surrounding the tragic demise of this young police officer.

Our thoughts are with Sergeant Amoah Moses' family, friends, and colleagues during this difficult time. The loss of a dedicated member of the police force is truly heartbreaking. We urge anyone with information related to this incident to come forward and assist the authorities in their investigation. May justice be served, and may Sergeant Amoah Moses rest in peace.
