We have received reports of a disturbing incident at Somé Senior High School in Agbozume, Ketu South Municipality. The matron and bursar of the school have been apprehended on allegations of misappropriating food supplies meant for the boarding students.

According to reliable sources, these illicit activities have been ongoing for a number of years, causing concern and outrage within the school community. The arrest was made possible by the vigilance and intervention of Ibrahim Ayuba, the assembly member for the Logove Electoral Area, who intercepted the stolen items.

The confiscated items, including tin tomatoes, mackerel, detergents, and insecticide spray, were discovered in possession of the matron and bursar. They are currently in police custody at the Agbozume police station, pending further investigation and legal proceedings.

Such actions not only undermine the well-being of the students who depend on these supplies but also erode the trust and integrity of the educational institution. It is imperative that the authorities conduct a thorough inquiry into this matter and take appropriate measures to prevent any recurrence.

We commend the swift action taken by the relevant authorities in addressing this issue. It is our hope that justice will be served, and steps will be taken to ensure the welfare and security of the students at Somé SHS.

We will continue to monitor this situation and provide updates as it unfolds.
