We are deeply saddened to hear about the harrowing incident that occurred at a mining and construction company in Bediem near Obuasi. A private security man, Amatus Ziem, is currently battling a life-threatening wound after being tied and stabbed by individuals believed to be robbers.

According to a police report obtained by MyNewsGh, the unfortunate event took place at approximately 3 am on Wednesday, May 29, 2024, while Ziem was diligently carrying out his duties. He recounted that three unidentified young men launched a vicious attack on him, immobilizing him with a rope before inflicting a stab wound to his back using a knife. The perpetrators then proceeded to steal six excavator 330 CL cylinder injectors and one starter, exacerbating the gravity of the situation.

As a result of this heinous act, Ziem sustained a deep laceration to his back, resulting in profuse bleeding and saturation of his shirt with blood. Promptly accompanied by Prosper Ankabong, who oversees operations at the company, Ziem reported the incident to the police in a bid to bring the assailants to justice.

We fervently hope for Ziem's swift recovery and extend our heartfelt sympathies to him and his loved ones during this challenging time. It is imperative that the authorities conduct a thorough investigation and take decisive action to ensure the safety and security of individuals working in such high-risk environments. Our thoughts are with all those affected by this distressing event.

We urge anyone with information pertaining to this incident to come forward and assist the authorities in their pursuit of justice. Let us stand together in solidarity against such reprehensible acts and strive to create a safer environment for all members of our community.
