We are deeply saddened to report an unfortunate incident involving Ato Koomson, the son of Awutu Senya East Member of Parliament (MP), Mavis Hawa Koomson. Ato was involved in a stabbing incident that occurred on Sunday at the Electoral Commission’s (EC) office in Kasoa.

According to Kwadwo Anim, Campaign Manager for the MP, Ato was stabbed in the chest during a moment of confusion at the EC's office. Mr. Anim, who rushed Ato to the hospital, has reported that Ato is currently in stable condition and responding well to treatment.

Following the incident, Ato was transferred from the Kasoa Mother and Child Polyclinic to the 37 Military Hospital for further medical attention. Mr. Anim emphasized the critical role of timely medical intervention, stating that Ato's survival was a result of both medical care and divine intervention.

It is important to note that Ato had been at the EC's office to monitor the electoral process and meant no harm. The details surrounding the altercation remain unclear, but it is evident that this was a distressing and concerning event for all involved.

We are grateful that Ato is now in stable condition and receiving the necessary medical care. Our thoughts are with him and his family during this difficult time. We hope for his swift and full recovery.

As more information becomes available, we urge everyone to approach this situation with sensitivity and respect for those involved. Acts of violence have no place in our society, and we must work together to ensure the safety and well-being of all individuals.

We will continue to monitor Ato's progress and provide updates as they become available. Our priority remains supporting Ato and his family as they navigate this challenging experience.
