We have received reports of the arrest of Ibrahim Mohammed, also known as Commander Kanewu of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), for alleged threats against public officials. The arrest comes after the Police declared him wanted earlier in the week, following the circulation of a viral video.
Mohammed was apprehended on Wednesday, subsequent to the Police offering a GH¢100,000 reward for any information leading to his arrest. He is currently in custody and will undergo the necessary legal procedures.
Threats against public officials are taken very seriously, and it is imperative that the due process of the law is followed in addressing such matters. We trust that the legal system will handle this case appropriately and ensure that justice is served.
We will continue to monitor the situation and provide updates as more information becomes available.
