We have received reports of an incident at the Airport Roundabout in Accra, where a man identified as Newwel Gavu has been arrested on suspicion of causing damage to a monument and several signposts. The Ghana Police Service (GPS) has confirmed that the suspect is currently in custody and will be processed according to the law.

In a brief statement released on Saturday, the police commended members of the public and the Airport security for their vigilance, which ultimately led to the arrest of the suspect.

It is important to note that the legal process will now take its course, and we trust that the authorities will handle the matter with diligence and fairness.

We urge the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to the appropriate authorities. Let us all work together to ensure the safety and security of our public spaces.

We will continue to monitor the situation and provide updates as necessary.
