We are pleased to announce that the trial of Daniel Asiedu for the murder of Joseph Boakye Danquah-Adu is set to be completed in March 2024. Justice Lydia Osei Marfo, the presiding judge, has expressed hope that the trial will be expedited following an agreement on a series of dates by the Court, jury, prosecution, and defense.

The trial had faced delays at the beginning of the 2023/24 legal year due to issues with jury constitution, including a juror going on maternity leave since October of the previous year. However, efforts are being made to ensure a speedy trial, with dates agreed upon from February 20 to March 27, 2024 for the completion of the case.

The Investigator Chief Inspector Augustine Nkrumah, now Assistant Superintendent of Police, is expected to face further cross-examination from the defense led by Yaw Dankwah. Following this, the prosecution, led by Mrs. Sefakor Batse, a Principal State Attorney, will close their case.

Daniel Asiedu, also known as Sexy Don Don, has pleaded not guilty to the charge of murder and is currently standing trial. He has also denied the charge of robbery. Additionally, Asiedu and Vincent Bossu, alias Agongo, have been charged with conspiracy to rob and remain in lawful custody.

As the trial progresses, we hope for a fair and just resolution in this case. We will continue to monitor and provide updates on this important legal matter. The next hearing is scheduled for February 20, 2024, as we work towards the completion of this trial.
