Businessman Emmanuel Amoah Quartey recently testified as the third Prosecution Witness (PW3) in a case at the High Court in Accra. The case involves his former security guard, Pius Anundoabil Ayoma, who is facing charges of attempted robbery. Mr. Quartey recounted the harrowing events that took place at his home, where his former security guard allegedly tied his wife to a toilet seat and fired a gun at him.

During his testimony, Mr. Quartey described how the masked intruder, later identified as his former security guard, pursued him with a double barrel gun through the corridors and into the kitchen before firing at him outside. He vividly recalled the shock wave of the bullet hitting his head and the intense fear he experienced as he shouted for help.

Fortunately, with the intervention of his neighbor's security officer and other neighbors, the intruder fled the scene. Mr. Quartey and his neighbors were able to untie his wife, who identified the masked man as Pius, their former security guard. This identification was further corroborated by the T-shirt the intruder was wearing, which Mr. Quartey recognized as belonging to Pius.

The traumatic events unfolded on January 31, 2023, when Mr. Quartey had dropped off his wife at her office and proceeded to his own office. He had planned to pick her up for a church program later that evening but was delayed due to work commitments. Upon returning home, he encountered an unfamiliar car parked in his driveway with its hazard lights on, setting off a chain of alarming discoveries inside his own home.

As he entered the house, Mr. Quartey was confronted with a scene of bloodstains leading to the bathroom, where he found his wife tied up and was then threatened by the masked intruder.

The details shared by Mr. Quartey during his testimony provide a chilling account of the alleged intrusion and attempted robbery that took place in his home. The court proceedings continue as the case unfolds, shedding light on the events that have deeply affected Mr. Quartey and his family.

The gravity of the situation and the emotional toll it has taken on the victims serve as a stark reminder of the importance of security and safety within our homes. Mr. Quartey's courage in recounting these distressing events in court is commendable, and it is our hope that justice will be served in this case. We extend our thoughts to Mr. Quartey and his family as they navigate through this challenging time.
