We are deeply concerned by the recent incident that took place at Adenta Kenkey House in Accra, where two individuals were subjected to a severe beating by enraged residents. The suspects were allegedly involved in the theft of numerous goats, which were found crammed into their private vehicle.

According to reports, residents had become increasingly suspicious of the vehicle, which had been observed circling the area for an extended period. Upon further investigation, it was discovered that the goats found in the vehicle had been reported stolen by their respective owners.

In a display of vigilante justice, the residents took matters into their own hands, resorting to violence against the suspects and completely vandalizing their vehicle. One suspect was reportedly beaten to a pulp before being handed over to the District Police, while the other managed to escape.

While we understand the frustration and concern of the community regarding theft and criminal activities, it is important to emphasize the need for adherence to the law and due process. Vigilante actions not only pose a risk to the safety of individuals involved but also undermine the justice system.

We urge residents to report any suspicious activities to the appropriate authorities and allow the law to take its course. It is only through cooperation with law enforcement agencies that we can ensure a safe and secure community for all.
