We are deeply saddened to report the tragic loss of Offei Noah, a dedicated member of the Okyeman Environmental Protection Taskforce. At the age of 35, Offei Noah lost his life in a violent attack at Asuaba near Adeiso in the Eastern Region. This devastating incident has prompted the Eastern Regional Police Command to launch a manhunt for the armed assailants responsible for the attack.

During the attack, Offei Noah was fatally shot, and three other members of the task force – Kyei Maxwell, Talata Richmond, and Amoah Kwame – sustained severe gunshot injuries to their hands, chests, and other parts of their bodies. The gravity of this situation is deeply concerning and calls for swift and decisive action.

According to Nana Baffuor Kwabena Baah, the Akwansrahene of Kyabi-Apapam and second in command for the Okyeman Land Protection Taskforce, the task force was ambushed by unknown assailants on their return from Adeiso. This unprovoked act of violence has shaken the community and left all members of the task force in a state of shock and disbelief.

In the wake of this tragedy, the body of the deceased has been transferred to the Police hospital in Accra, while the injured are currently receiving treatment at the Regional Hospital in Koforidua. Our thoughts and prayers are with the injured members and their families during this difficult time.

The family members of Offei Noah have expressed profound shock and sorrow upon receiving the devastating news. They are urgently calling on the Eastern Regional Police Command to conduct a thorough investigation into the matter in order to bring the perpetrators to justice. It is imperative that those responsible for this heinous act are swiftly identified and held accountable for their actions.

As we mourn the loss of Offei Noah and offer our support to the injured members of the task force, we stand in solidarity with the Okyeman Environmental Protection Taskforce and condemn any form of violence or aggression. This tragic event serves as a stark reminder of the risks faced by those dedicated to environmental protection and conservation efforts.

We urge anyone with information related to this incident to come forward and assist the authorities in their investigation. Together, we must ensure that justice is served and that such senseless acts of violence are not tolerated within our communities.

In memory of Offei Noah and in support of his colleagues, we call for unity, resilience, and a steadfast commitment to upholding peace and security within the Eastern Region. Our collective efforts are needed to prevent such tragedies from occurring in the future, and we must remain vigilant in safeguarding the well-being of all individuals involved in environmental protection initiatives.

May Offei Noah rest in peace, and may his legacy inspire continued dedication to the vital cause of environmental protection.
