We are deeply saddened to report a disturbing incident that occurred in Tema Community 1 in the early hours of Monday morning. A man, believed to be in his 40s, fell victim to a brutal attack by a thief who entered his home with the intent to steal his phone.

According to an eyewitness account shared on Plan B FM’s morning show NKOSUONSEM, the thief engaged in a physical struggle with the victim, ultimately resorting to the use of a knife to inflict serious wounds to the victim's face and back. The assailant fled the scene, leaving the victim in urgent need of medical attention.

Subsequently, the victim was promptly transported to the hospital for necessary treatment upon discovery of his grave condition. This harrowing incident serves as a stark reminder of the pervasive threat posed by criminal elements within our communities.

The eyewitness also expressed concern regarding the prevalence of criminal activities in specific areas, notably sites 15, 16, and 17. She urged authorities to take decisive action to address the root causes of criminal behavior in these locations. Additionally, she highlighted the existence of a problematic area known as Community 5000, characterized by criminal occupation and activities. She called for intervention from city authorities to either demolish the area and remove its inhabitants or assume control of the land if the current owner is unwilling to develop it, citing it as a breeding ground for criminal elements.

This tragic event underscores the importance of community vigilance and proactive measures to ensure the safety and security of residents. It is imperative that local authorities heed the plea for increased efforts to combat crime and safeguard the well-being of citizens.

Our thoughts are with the victim and his loved ones during this difficult time. We fervently hope for his swift recovery and call for collective action to address the underlying issues that contribute to such senseless acts of violence within our neighborhoods.
