We recently witnessed a disturbing incident at an Easter convention hosted by The Church of Pentecost in Kasoa. A man, who was wanted by the police, attempted to deceive attendees by fabricating a miraculous healing of his purported blindness, which gained attention on social media platforms.

This individual, reportedly 67 years old, falsely claimed to have been miraculously cured of a 22-year-long blindness during the convention. This testimony quickly spread across various social media platforms, capturing the attention of many.

The Kasoa Area of The Church of Pentecost took the matter seriously and initiated a thorough investigation into the authenticity of the alleged healing. Additionally, an assessment of the suspect’s living conditions was conducted with plans underway to provide housing and startup capital for him and his family. However, it was later revealed that the entire ordeal had been staged.

Subsequently, the Ghana Police Service launched an investigation upon viewing the viral video, leading to the tracking and subsequent arrest of the suspect.

Apostle James Kwabena Asare, the Kasoa Area Head of The Church of Pentecost, addressed the incident in a statement, confirming that the supposed blind man was in fact an alleged criminal who had been evading the law. He emphasized that the individual has now been exposed and handed over to the police.

Furthermore, the statement urged members of the church to refrain from discussing or sharing information about the fabricated miracle on social media platforms. Apostle Asare also stressed the importance of obtaining permission from the Area media committee before disseminating any information related to the church on social media platforms, in an effort to prevent similar incidents in the future.

It is indeed a sobering reminder to exercise caution and discernment, especially in an age where information spreads rapidly through social media. Let us remain vigilant and uphold integrity in all aspects of our lives.
