We are deeply saddened to report a tragic incident that occurred in Kwame Peprakrom, in the Upper Denkyira East Municipality of the Central region. On the night of Saturday, September 28, 2024, between 12:00 am and 1:00 am, a Police patrol team fell victim to a brutal attack by armed robbers.
As a result of this senseless act of violence, one officer from the Dunkwa Divisional Police Armory, identified as Evans, lost his life. Two other officers sustained critical injuries and are currently receiving medical treatment at the Okomfo Anokye Teaching Hospital.
The loss of a dedicated officer and the injuries sustained by his colleagues serve as a stark reminder of the risks faced by law enforcement personnel in the line of duty. Our thoughts and prayers are with the families and colleagues of the affected officers during this difficult time.
We urge the relevant authorities to swiftly investigate this incident and bring the perpetrators to justice. Acts of violence against law enforcement officers cannot be tolerated, and those responsible must be held accountable for their actions.
