The Ghana Police Service has intensified its search for Fatau Motorway, a suspect allegedly involved in the violent clashes between supporters of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in Mamobi, Accra, on October 13, 2024.
Fatau Motorway, who was reportedly captured on camera brandishing a weapon during the unrest, remains at large.
In a recent statement, the Police have urged the public to assist in their intelligence-led efforts by providing any information that could lead to his arrest.
To encourage cooperation, the Police have announced a reward of GH₵20,000 for credible information that results in the capture of the suspect.
The violent clashes between NPP and NDC supporters have raised concerns about security in the Mamobi area, particularly as the 2024 general elections approach.
The Police are assuring confidentiality and protection for informants and are encouraging anyone with information to come forward.
This reward is part of broader efforts to hold those responsible for the violence accountable and to promote a peaceful political environment in the lead-up to the elections. The Police are committed to ensuring the safety and security of all citizens and are calling for the support of the public in their ongoing efforts.
