We are deeply saddened to report that the family of the late O’Reilly student, who tragically lost his life at the hands of a schoolmate, has announced the funeral date for their beloved son. The funeral is scheduled to take place on October 18, 2024.

Enock Bortey Sackey, the grieving father, has shared with Adom News that the family arrived at this decision in light of the developments in the case at the La District Court.

In a significant turn of events in the Republic Vs Godwin Mawuli case, Prosecutor Paul Osei Adjei has confirmed that the duplicate docket has been forwarded to the Attorney-General’s office. However, due to procedural requirements, it will undergo review at the Regional Office and Headquarters before reaching its final destination.

To ensure expeditious handling of the case, the investigator has been assigned to personally oversee the matter, recognizing its substantial public interest.

During a solemn interaction with the father of the deceased, Edward Bortey Sackey, the judge emphasized that the docket preparation is complete and has been forwarded. The judge urged Mr. Sackey to continue exerting pressure on the authorities to ensure progress in the case.

Meanwhile, the accused, Godwin Mawuli, has been remanded for an additional two weeks, and the case has been adjourned until October 21, 2024. The judge also advised Mr. Mawuli to seek legal representation.

As we continue to monitor this heartbreaking case, our thoughts and prayers remain with the family and loved ones of the deceased during this difficult time.
