Accra Academy Senior High School has released a statement addressing a viral video depicting a student wielding a cutlass to flog several classmates. The incident, which took place on January 17th, 2024, only came to the attention of school authorities after the video circulated on social media.
The statement, released on Sunday and sighted by Citi News, reveals that the school has identified all students involved – both perpetrators and victims. Parents of all students involved have been contacted. The student who wielded the cutlass has been handed over to the police for further investigation and questioning.
As a precautionary measure, all students involved, who are all day students, have been temporarily suspended pending the completion of a thorough investigation.

- Ahmed Dauda a.k.a. Foreigner (3GA 5)
- Richard Ninsin a.k.a. Poisonous (3GA 5)
The victims are identified as:
- Samuel Ussher (1Sc 10)
- Kingsford Quayson (1Sc 10)
- Stephen Oteng (1Sc 10)
- Dominic Awuku Adjei (1GA 2)
Initial investigations suggest that the cutlass was brought from home and not obtained from within the school premises. The school's disciplinary committee is currently conducting a full investigation, and all stakeholders will be informed of the findings and subsequent actions.
