In a deeply concerning development, an Arabic language teacher, identified as Sule Anas, has been declared wanted by the police in connection with allegations of defilement and unnatural carnal knowledge involving two minors. The incident reportedly occurred in Fijai Zongo, a community near Sekondi in the Western Region of Ghana.

The Gender Court in Sekondi issued an arrest warrant for Mr. Anas on Wednesday, May 20, 2026. Superintendent Olivia Adiku, who oversees Police Public Affairs in the Western Region, confirmed the issuance of the warrant and provided details of the case.

According to the police, Mr. Anas was employed by leaders of the Fijai Zongo Central community to teach Arabic to children during weekends. However, he is alleged to have exploited this position of trust to commit heinous acts. Reports indicate that the suspect lured two minors into a storeroom within the mosque under the guise of performing spiritual cleansing rituals. It was during this time, police allege, that he committed acts of sodomy and defilement against the children.

Mr. Anas is described as fair in complexion, approximately 5.7 feet tall, and is believed to have fled the country following the incident. Police intelligence suggests that he may be hiding in either La Côte d'Ivoire or Togo. Authorities are actively pursuing leads to locate and apprehend him.

Superintendent Adiku has made a public appeal for assistance in locating the suspect. Members of the public with credible information regarding his whereabouts are being urged to contact the Western Regional Domestic Violence and Victim Support Unit (DOVVSU) or report to the nearest police station. Additionally, individuals can call emergency numbers 191 or 112 to provide any relevant details that may aid in his capture.

This case has sparked outrage and concern within the Fijai Zongo community and beyond. It highlights the critical importance of safeguarding children from abuse and ensuring that those entrusted with their care are held accountable for their actions. The police have reiterated their commitment to ensuring justice for the victims and their families.

The authorities are also urging parents and guardians to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities involving children to law enforcement agencies promptly. Protecting the rights and well-being of minors remains a top priority for law enforcement and society as a whole.

This is a developing story, and updates will be provided as more information becomes available.
