We are deeply saddened to report on a tragic incident that occurred in Fetteh Kakraba, Gomoa East District of the Central Region. A 21-year-old father, identified as Bright, has been taken into custody by the Awutu Bereku District Police Command for the alleged murder of his three-week-old baby.

The heartbreaking event unfolded during a visit on Monday night when Bright, reportedly, took the life of the infant, suspected to be for money rituals. The child's mother had left the baby sleeping inside while she ran an errand. It is alleged that Bright, during this time, asked a friend to bring the baby from the room, under what are believed to be sinister motives.

According to reports, the friend encountered Bright with the baby on the school park shortly before learning from the mother that the baby was missing. A search party was organized to locate the infant. Tragically, despite efforts to find the baby, it was discovered that Bright had already committed the unthinkable act.

Both Bright and his friend are currently in police custody, cooperating with ongoing investigations into this heart-wrenching incident. The community has been deeply affected by this tragedy, and our thoughts are with all those involved.

We urge for a thorough and swift investigation to bring justice for the innocent victim and provide support for the grieving family. Such incidents serve as a stark reminder of the importance of vigilance and community awareness. We hope that this case will lead to measures that prevent such tragedies from occurring in the future.
