We are deeply saddened to report a tragic incident that occurred in Brewankor, a farming community in the Nkwanta South Municipality of the Oti Region. One individual has been shot dead, while another is in critical condition following a shooting on a farm.
The deceased, identified as 25-year-old Kwabena Boame, was reportedly killed while harvesting cassava with three other individuals. The injured party is currently receiving treatment at Nkwanta St. Joseph Catholic Hospital.
At this time, it remains unclear whether this act of violence is connected to the ongoing conflict in the area. Despite recent pledges from local chiefs to promote peace in the municipality following clashes, residents continue to live in fear.
In response to this tragic event, two individuals have been arrested in connection with the incident which resulted in the loss of the young farmer's life.
