We are following the tragic case of the three siblings who lost their lives due to suspected insecticide poisoning. The incident, which occurred on December 28, 2023, has left the community in mourning and raised important legal and public health concerns.

The police have completed their investigations and are now awaiting advice from the Attorney General’s Office. An autopsy report has been obtained, shedding light on the cause of death, and the bodies of the deceased have been laid to rest. The case has been adjourned to March 4, 2024, as the legal process unfolds.

The heartbreaking events unfolded when the children, along with their grandmother, were exposed to an insecticide used for bedbug control while visiting their grandmother for the school holidays. Tragically, two of the siblings and their grandmother were found unconscious the next morning and rushed to the hospital. Despite medical efforts, the three siblings succumbed to the effects of the poisoning.

The uncle of the deceased, who applied the insecticide, was detained as part of the police investigations and has appeared in court. He has been provisionally charged with murder, although his defense counsel has requested bail while maintaining his client's innocence.

This incident serves as a sobering reminder of the potential dangers associated with certain chemicals and the importance of handling them with utmost care. Our thoughts are with the family and loved ones of the deceased during this difficult time.

As the legal proceedings continue, we hope that all aspects of this case will be thoroughly examined to provide clarity and justice for those affected. We will continue to monitor this case and provide updates as it progresses.
