We are deeply saddened to report the tragic passing of a first-year female student at Aburi Girls Senior High School in the Eastern Region. The student, who had been experiencing severe stomach pains, tragically succumbed on Monday, February 5, 2024.

Allegations have surfaced suggesting that the student was denied medical attention by the school nurse, who reportedly accused her of repeatedly feigning illness. This has raised serious concerns about the level of care and attention provided to students in need of medical assistance.

Regrettably, by the time she was finally rushed to the hospital, it was too late. Her untimely passing has left the school community and her family in mourning.

The deceased student's body has been deposited at the Tetteh Quarshie Memorial Hospital pending autopsy. Her family, reportedly residing abroad, has been informed and has since arrived in Ghana after receiving the devastating news.

In light of these distressing circumstances, the police, in collaboration with the management of the school, are conducting a thorough investigation to uncover the truth surrounding the student's untimely death.

Our thoughts and deepest condolences go out to the family and friends of the deceased during this incredibly difficult time. We hope that the investigation will provide clarity and answers, and ultimately prevent such a tragedy from occurring again in the future.
