We are deeply saddened to report on a tragic incident that occurred on the campus of Tamale UDS. A 38-year-old nursing student, Ibrahim Mohammed Sadat, was reportedly beaten to death by an unknown mob at his hostel on Friday midnight.

The details of the assault are harrowing, as Sadat managed to call his mother during the attack, conveying that he was being beaten to death by his colleagues before abruptly hanging up. Despite attempts to reach him again, the calls went unanswered, and the family learned on Saturday morning that Sadat had succumbed to the assault.

An eyewitness mentioned that he tried to intervene but was overpowered by the mob. This is a deeply distressing situation, and our thoughts are with Sadat's family and loved ones during this difficult time.

Hajia Zulfawu Tuntundani, a family member, has shared that the incident has been reported to the Tamale Regional Police Command. However, due to it being the weekend, concrete information on the perpetrators was not immediately available. The CID officer, named Sallah, indicated that more details could be provided by the Northern Regional Police PRO on Monday morning.

As investigations unfold, Sadat's body is currently at the morgue at Tamale Teaching Hospital. We urge for a thorough and swift investigation into this tragic event, and for those responsible to be brought to justice.

We will continue to monitor this situation and provide updates as more information becomes available. Our hearts go out to the family and friends of Ibrahim Mohammed Sadat during this incredibly difficult time.
