50-year-old man killed in gas explosion incident at Suame Magazine

We regret to report a tragic incident that occurred at the Suame Magazine in the Ashanti Region on Monday, March 25, 2024. A 50-year-old carbide welder, identified as Kwabena Afriyie from Offinso, lost his life in a gas cylinder explosion while working on a car.



According to eyewitnesses, the liquid oxygen cylinder explosion resulted in the immediate death of Mr. Afriyie, causing severe mutilation to his body. The authorities were promptly notified, and the police have since conveyed the mutilated body parts to the morgue.


This unfortunate event serves as a sobering reminder of the inherent risks associated with certain professions, and our thoughts are with the family and loved ones of Mr. Afriyie during this difficult time.
