The Greater Accra Regional Criminal Investigations Department (CID) of the Ghana Police Service has recently submitted a comprehensive report detailing an incident involving former National Service Person (NSS) Deborah Seyram Adablah. The report outlines an alleged assault on police officers by Adablah, as well as the subsequent legal proceedings.

According to Detective Sergeant Thompson Ayitey, an Investigator with the Greater Accra Regional CID, Adablah obstructed police officers from executing a court order and also assaulted them. This testimony was presented in court as part of the ongoing legal proceedings.

It is important to note that Adablah had previously filed a sexual harassment case against banker Ernest Kwasi Nimako, which was subsequently dismissed. She is now facing a Contempt charge filed by Mr. Nimako, adding another layer of complexity to the legal situation.

During a recent court appearance, Counsel for Adablah cross-examined the Investigator, seeking clarification on the handling of the execution order. The Investigator clarified that the order was not directed to him, but rather to the Regional Commander who then instructed the Counter Terrorism Unit (CTU) to take necessary action.

In response to queries about the police station diary, the Investigator explained that he had documented the events following the execution order, and that the CTU officers were responsible for carrying out the order from start to finish.

As the legal proceedings continue, Counsel for Adablah requested that the appropriate officers from the CTU be subpoenaed to provide further testimony. In response, Justice John Bosco Nabarese, the presiding judge, instructed counsel for the Plaintiff to ensure that the CTU officers appear for further cross-examination on May 7.

In a separate development, lawyers representing Banker Ernest Kwasi Nimako have filed an application for a summary judgment in the case.

The next hearing for this complex legal matter has been scheduled for May 7, 2024.

This case highlights the intricacies and challenges involved in legal proceedings, and serves as a reminder of the importance of thorough investigation and due process in matters of dispute and alleged misconduct. As the situation unfolds, it will be important to closely monitor the developments and eventual outcome of this case.
