We are facing a situation in the Adaklu District of the Volta Region that requires urgent attention from the authorities. A court complex, which was constructed in 2020, remains uncommissioned and unattended, much to the dismay of the residents.

Despite its completion, the court complex has been left in a state of neglect, with overgrown weeds and rodents taking over the premises. A recent visit to the site revealed locked gates, indicating a lack of activity. However, an external view confirmed that the courthouse is fully constructed, albeit in need of some final touches.

Mark Hoenyekor, a former assembly member in the Adaklu District, expressed his concern and called for the immediate commissioning and handover of the complex to facilitate court proceedings in the district. He highlighted the history of the district's efforts to establish a suitable court facility and emphasized the need for prompt action.

"It is a matter of concern to people of Adaklu as well…Sooner than later we are hoping that the contractor will come over and hand over the project," he stated.

The completion of this court complex is crucial for ensuring access to justice and legal processes within the district. It is imperative that the relevant authorities take swift action to address this issue and ensure that the facility is fully operational.

We urge the responsible authorities to prioritize the commissioning and handover of the court complex in Adaklu District, as it is essential for upholding the rule of law and serving the needs of the community. It is our hope that swift action will be taken to rectify this situation and ensure that the residents have access to a functional court facility without further delay.
