We are deeply saddened to report on a recent incident that occurred in Agbedorkofe, within the Agotime-Ziope District of the Volta Region. Kofi Nugo, a 49-year-old farmer, has been arrested by the police for his alleged involvement in a shooting incident involving his brother, Robert, and one Hunor Adza.

According to police sources, a misunderstanding arose between the parties involved, resulting in a tragic turn of events. As a result of the altercation, both Robert and Hunor Adza sustained injuries, with Robert's condition being described as critical as he was rushed to the Ho Teaching Hospital. Meanwhile, it has been reported that Hunor Adza's condition is stable.

An eyewitness, who chose to remain anonymous, provided an account of the events leading up to the shooting. It is reported that Kofi Nugo, accompanied by Hunor Adza, sought to engage his mother in a discussion while she was attending a meeting at Agbedorkofe. When his mother declined his request, Kofi Nugo resorted to using force, prompting his brother, Robert, to intervene. This intervention allegedly led to Kofi Nugo retrieving a firearm and attempting to shoot his brother, inadvertently injuring Hunor Adza in the process.

Following the shooting, Kofi Nugo fled the scene but was subsequently apprehended by the police at his hideout on Friday, March 22. He is currently cooperating with the authorities as they conduct their investigations into the matter.

This unfortunate incident serves as a stark reminder of the need for peaceful conflict resolution and the avoidance of violence. Our thoughts are with all those affected by this distressing event, and we hope for the swift and full recovery of the injured parties.

We urge the community to come together in support of those impacted and to assist the authorities in their efforts to ensure that justice is served. It is our sincere hope that through cooperation and understanding, such tragic incidents can be prevented in the future.
