We have recently received news from the Ghana Police Service regarding the arrest of some individuals involved in acts of lawlessness at the Democracy Hub demonstration. According to a public notice issued by the Police, the demonstrators were found to be engaged in activities such as blocking the road, pushing down Police crash barriers, and obstructing traffic at the 37 Intersection.
One of the leaders of the protestors, Oliver Vormawor, has been declared wanted by the Police for his involvement in these unlawful activities. The Police have assured the public that they are on a manhunt to apprehend Oliver Vormawor and others who participated in these acts of lawlessness. It has been emphasized that all perpetrators involved will be brought to face justice.
It is important to note that while the right to peaceful demonstration is a fundamental aspect of democracy, it should be exercised within the confines of the law. The actions of the Democracy Hub protestors, as described by the Police, clearly crossed the line into unlawful behavior.
As responsible citizens, it is crucial to express grievances and advocate for change through lawful and peaceful means. The authorities have a duty to maintain public order and safety, and any breach of the law cannot be condoned.
We will continue to monitor developments related to this incident and hope for a swift resolution in accordance with the law.
