We are currently facing a situation of uncertainty and concern as lawyers and relatives of the detained Democracy Hub members are in the dark regarding the whereabouts of their clients. The recent arrests in the #ReOccupyJulobiHouse protest have resulted in a state of confusion, with the specific facilities housing the detainees unknown to their legal representatives.
The Lawyers for the Protest Defence have expressed their intention to file a repeat bail application at the High Court during the course of this week. However, they are encountering obstacles in determining the precise locations where each of the accused individuals has been placed.
Following the remand of 53 accused persons, including prominent figures such as Oliver Barker-Vormawor, Elorm Ababio (Ama Governor), Felicity Nelson, and Ralph William, by the Circuit Court in Accra, the legal team is diligently working to navigate this challenging situation. Additionally, one individual is reported to be on the run, with a bench warrant issued for their arrest.
Despite these complexities, our team of lawyers remains committed to pursuing justice for the detainees. We are dedicated to ensuring that their bail applications are repeated in the High Court in the coming week. Our efforts to secure their rights and freedoms continue unabated, and we are resolute in our pursuit of a fair and just legal process for all individuals involved.
We understand the gravity of the circumstances and are steadfast in our determination to provide unwavering support to our clients. As we navigate this intricate legal landscape, we remain steadfast in our commitment to upholding the principles of justice and due process.
We will continue to provide updates on this matter as it unfolds, and we remain hopeful for a positive resolution in the near future.
