Accra, Ghana – The Ghana Police Service has apprehended four individuals suspected of involvement in the murder of the destooled Akwamuhene of Tanoso, a town located in the Bono East Region. The suspects, identified as Issifu Addae, also known as Akwasi Addae; Stephen Gyamfi; Augustine Arhinful; and Martha Mansah, are currently being held in police custody and are assisting with ongoing investigations.
In a formal statement released by the Police Service, it was disclosed that four additional individuals have been identified as persons of interest in the case and are actively being sought.
Preliminary investigations into the circumstances surrounding the Akwamuhene's death have revealed a complex backdrop of chieftaincy disputes. According to reports, the deceased had been removed from his position as Akwamuhene of Tanoso but purportedly refused to accept the decision. This rejection led to a series of legal challenges and disputes with the royal family concerning the stool.
The Ghana Police Service has assured the public that all necessary measures are being taken to locate and apprehend the remaining suspects. The police statement emphasized a commitment to ensuring that all individuals involved in the crime are brought to justice and face the full extent of the law.
