Six Arrested in Anti-Drug Operation in Bono-East Region

The Bono-East Regional Command of the Narcotics Control Commission (NACOC) has successfully apprehended six individuals during a targeted anti-drug operation in Donkor-Nkwanta, located in the Nkoranza South District. The operation, codenamed “Operation Clean Street,” was conducted on Friday, March 27, 2026, as part of the Commission’s sustained efforts to combat the sale and abuse of illicit drugs, particularly in high-risk communities.



In a statement released on Saturday, March 28, NACOC revealed that the operation was intelligence-led and aimed at improving public safety while dismantling drug trafficking networks within the region. The six suspects arrested during the exercise have been identified as Ismael Tahiru, 20; Edward Adai, 20; Opoku Kwame, 20; Benjamin Atinga, 22; Isaac Antwi, 23; and Emmanuel Brobbey, 23.


A thorough search conducted during the operation resulted in the seizure of various illicit substances and related paraphernalia. Items retrieved included four blisters of Tramadol (250mg), six boxes of Gold Seal, 60 rolls of cannabis, parcels of cannabis, locally prepared cannabis, rolling papers, and a lighter. In addition to the drugs, authorities confiscated a motorcycle and several tools, including kitchen knives, scissors, and a hammer.



The six individuals are currently in custody and are assisting authorities with their investigations. Meanwhile, all confiscated items have been secured for further analysis and use as evidence in subsequent legal proceedings.


In its statement, the Bono-East Regional Command reiterated its unwavering commitment to intensifying intelligence-driven operations aimed at dismantling drug trafficking networks and curbing substance abuse within local communities. The Commission emphasized the importance of collaborative efforts in addressing this societal menace.


NACOC further appealed to members of the public to support its mission by providing credible and timely information that could aid in the fight against illicit drug activities. The Commission underscored that such community engagement is critical to ensuring safer environments for all.


This latest operation underscores NACOC’s dedication to safeguarding public health and safety while addressing the growing challenge of drug-related offenses in the Bono-East Region.
