The Accra Regional Police Command has successfully apprehended five individuals believed to be integral members of a criminal syndicate engaged in armed robbery and landguard activities in Sapeiman Faase, located within the Greater Accra Region.
The arrests were executed on Friday, July 17, 2026, following an intelligence-driven operation carried out by the Accra Regional Police Command in collaboration with the National Police Intelligence Directorate (NPID).
In an official statement released on Monday, July 20, the Police identified the apprehended individuals as Torgbui Agah Semaglo, aged 50; Shadrach Agah Semaglo, aged 22; William Kweku Sedanu, aged 21; Cyril Kassenu, aged 26; and Kingsford Agah Semaglo, aged 18.
Preliminary investigations conducted by law enforcement indicate that the suspects are linked to a broader criminal network implicated in armed robbery and landguard operations within Sapeiman and its surrounding areas.
During a search of the suspects' premises, authorities recovered a cache of items, including a pump-action shotgun, a Stoeger ST-R9 pistol, a dummy Austria pistol, a jackknife, a face mask, 12 BB cartridges, three rounds of 9mm ammunition, an AK-47 round, a talisman, and two kitchen knives.
The Police have stated that the group is suspected of utilizing these weapons and items to intimidate and terrorize local residents.
“All retrieved items have been secured as exhibits for evidential purposes,” the statement confirmed.
Currently, the suspects remain in police custody, actively cooperating with ongoing investigations as authorities strive to ascertain their involvement in additional robbery incidents and related criminal activities.
The Accra Regional Police Command further disclosed that efforts are being intensified to identify and apprehend additional individuals who may be connected to this criminal group.
