We are deeply saddened to report an unfortunate incident that occurred on Monday evening in the North East Region. Rabiu, a Mobile Money operator, was shot and subsequently rushed to the Walewale Government Hospital for urgent medical treatment.

According to a report by myjoyonline, eyewitnesses recounted that the attack took place at a busy bus station near Nalerigu Junction, along the Tamale-Bolga Road, situated in the heart of Walewale township. The witnesses described how three assailants arrived on motorcycles and proceeded to fire warning shots before targeting the young operator with gunfire.

Aremeyaw Somo Lucky, the Municipal Chief Executive, has confirmed the distressing incident and assured that the police have launched a search for the perpetrators. "I have just received this information about 5 minutes ago," the MCE is reported to have said.

Such acts of violence are deeply concerning and have no place in our society. Our thoughts are with Rabiu and his loved ones during this difficult time. We urge the relevant authorities to swiftly investigate this matter and ensure that those responsible are brought to justice.

We hope for Rabiu's speedy recovery and stand in solidarity with the community as they navigate through this troubling event.
