We are deeply saddened to report on the tragic events that have shaken the community of Kwahu Aseseɛso. The brutal rape and murder of 65-year-old Gladys Gyamfa, a blind woman who was known and loved by many in the area, has left the residents in a state of fear and uncertainty.

According to Akuamoah Boateng, a PTA chairman in the area, Gladys Gyamfa lived alone and relied on local children to assist her with daily tasks due to her visual impairment. Tragically, her kind promise to reward the children with money the next day led to a horrifying discovery.

Boateng recounted that upon returning the next morning, the children found Gladys Gyamfa unresponsive to their calls and knocking on her door. Concerned parents and residents, upon investigation, uncovered a gruesome scene—Gladys Gyamfa lay lifeless in a pool of blood, covered by her own clothes. The police, called to the scene, revealed that she had been both raped and murdered, shocking the entire community.

Furthermore, Boateng disclosed that Gladys Gyamfa's penchant for pranks and screaming may have contributed to the lack of immediate response from neighbors, creating an eerie backdrop to the tragic event that unfolded at 4:30 am on that fateful Monday. This horrifying incident has cast a dark shadow over Kwahu Aseseɛso, leaving its residents in mourning and apprehension about the safety of their community.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the family and friends of Gladys Gyamfa during this difficult time. We urge anyone with information related to this heinous crime to come forward and assist the authorities in bringing the perpetrators to justice. It is imperative that we come together as a community to support one another and ensure that such a tragedy never occurs again.
