In a recent development, the Attorney-General and Minister of Justice has made the decision to discontinue the case against former Chief Director at the Ministry of Health, Dr Sylvester Anemana, and others involved in the purchase of ambulances. This decision was communicated to the court on March 7 by the Attorney-General, Godfred Yeboah Dame.

Dr Sylvester Anemana

Dr Anemana, who was the second accused in the case involving the alleged causing of financial loss to the state in the €2.3 million ambulance purchase, has been facing health challenges and had to seek medical treatment abroad. He is currently in India seeking further medical assistance.

Following an in-chambers meeting with presiding Judge Afia Serwah Asare-Botwe, it was disclosed that the case against Dr Anemana has been dropped. The proceedings will continue with the third witness providing oral testimony.

The case has been adjourned to Tuesday, March 19, as the first accused, former Deputy Finance Minister and Minority Leader, Dr Cassiel Ato Forson, has parliamentary duties to attend to this week.

We will continue to monitor and report on any further developments in this case.
