We are deeply saddened by the tragic and senseless death of Bismark Awatey Kabutey, a 37-year-old man who was brutally killed by a mob in Teshie, Greater Accra Region. The incident, which occurred on July 28, 2024, has left his family and friends in shock and mourning.

Bismark Awatey Kabutey, a resident of Aboa-Lower in the Yilo Krobo Municipality of the Eastern Region, had attended a wedding in Madina and later joined a birthday party in Teshie with his friend, Junior. It was after these celebrations that the horrifying events unfolded.

According to Junior, who witnessed the tragic incident, he and Bismark attempted to return home late at night. Bismark, who was reportedly intoxicated, got into a misunderstanding with a taxi driver hired by a friend. This led to the driver falsely accusing them of theft, inciting a violent mob armed with stones, clubs, and other weapons to attack Bismark.

Despite Junior's pleas and attempts to explain that they were not thieves but guests at a wedding, the mob ignored him and continued their assault. Junior managed to escape and later learned that Bismark's lifeless body had been found in Accra and taken to the Police Hospital Mortuary.

The family of Bismark Awatey Kabutey is rightfully demanding justice for their loved one. They have lodged a formal report with the Police at Teshie and are urging for a thorough investigation to bring those responsible to account.

Described as a dedicated individual who worked on a farm in his village to support his family, Bismark's untimely death has left a void in the lives of those who knew him. His family emphasizes that he was not a thief and is seeking justice for his wrongful and tragic end.

As we mourn the loss of Bismark Awatey Kabutey, we join his family in calling for a swift and thorough investigation into this heinous crime. Our thoughts are with his loved ones during this difficult time as they seek the justice that Bismark deserves.
